*NOTE* BDUK is primarily a Minimal Risk HELP & ADVICE group. The information provided and advice given on BDUK is from very experienced Bearded Dragon owners. It is complementary, and not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, who we work alongside with, as well as being involved and associated with other professional bodies and associations in relation to reptiles. If your Beardie has or you suspect that your pet has a health problem, you should still contact a reputable vet through the appropriate means.

Just a quick note:

We are happy to see that our members knowledge in bearded dragon care is growing to the point whereby they can answer questions that new members may have. However could members please not crowd threads with barrages of questions especially if it is currently being dealt with by someone else.

You may see an admin, mod or a member asking questions and at that time not all questions may have been asked, but we need to take these things slowly and deal with one issue at a time. So before posting please stand back and wait a while, otherwise it often ends up with many people asking the same thing, thus confusing new owners. This doesn't mean that only admin/mods should be allowed to comment, as the insight and experience that members have is considered just as valuable as any admin/mods experience. We just want to make new members feel as welcome as possible and not bombard them with piles of information at once :)

Please note that where a member is helping another member admin/mods will watch the post and highlight adding additional information that may be missed if deemed necessary. Please don't take this the wrong way, it's not that we do not want you to help it is just that sometimes the amount of help can be overwhelming.

*** By adding your photos and posts to BDUK You authorise and grant permission for admin to use them when creating relevant files and documents, or as we see fit. Obviously we will respect your privacy and normally still ask out of politeness if we wish to use them.

Rules:

1. Please don't swear, we are a family friendly group.

2. Abusive language or deliberate belittling of others will not be tolerated.

3. No selling. Genuine Beardie rehomes may be dealt with through admin, please don't post them on the group yourself.

4. BDUK files and photos are for personal use only and we ask they aren't shared elsewhere, this allows us to keep them up to date and provide any additional information that might be needed.

5. Please respect that this is primarily an advice group that focuses on a low risk approach, husbandry issues will be pointed out. This is never meant as a personal attack, we all want the best for eachother's pets and all had to start somewhere.

6. Promoting practices we are against and deliberately contradicting admin advice may result in a ban. This only confuses newbies trying to learn and disrupts the purpose of the group.

7. Photos of beardies on loose substrates, cohabiting, dressed up or using blankets/beds in the viv may be deleted without warning. 8. Photos of beardies with other pets will be deleted without warning. No matter how well you 'know your pets', it benefits neither animal and takes a split second to go horribly wrong.

9. No naming and shaming of other people or groups. Any concerns can be dealt with privately by PMing an admin. Anyone found being disrespectful towards BDUK or it's members on another group will be banned.

10. We have a post every Monday for off topic chat, we ask that it's otherwise kept to a minimum to keep the group on track. Reptile help posts are fine.

11. Blocking admin or moderators will result in a ban.
